For the Love of the Wave
Creative Development, Ideation & Strategy
At the 2017 J-Bay Open, we were approached by the creative producer from World Surf League to shoot a story for them titled 'For the Love of the Wave'. The story followed surfer Matt Wilkinson, at the time, the number 1 surfer in the world. The story followed his love for the wave at the J-Bay surf competition and the sport itself. We scripted and storyboarded the piece and then worked closely with Wilkinson to deliver an authentic documentary-style delivery.
This branded partner campaign was in association with Corona, for their campaign 'This is Living'. We worked closely with their agency in Australia, Monster Children. We worked with the producer from WSL as well as Matt Wilkinson's agency. The turnaround time on this job was a 5 day shoot and deliver with a small micro cinematic team.
