Banyana Ba Style is a feature length documentary launched on NETFLIX in November 2023. The multi-generational story of women’s football in South Africa through the ambitious Mamelodi Sundowns FC. The film follows the team as they battle it out at the inaugural CAF Women’s Champions League in Cairo. DIRECTORS NOTE // Telling the story of the fierce and passionate Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies Football team will be an experience I’ll never forget. As my debut feature documentary, making this film was daunting, exhilarating, and utterly fulfilling. I couldn’t have asked to tackle more important subject matter than gender equality and women empowerment in Banyana ba Style.
