The Ask
The Goodwork Foundation is based in Hazyview, Mpumalanga and aims to reimagine education for people living in rural communities in South Africa. This organisation has grown and developed since its inceptions in 2003, and the team asked us to help tell their story and explain the business model from the heart of who they are. Unpacking not only the journey the foundation has been on but the different education models they offer and the lives they have changed. The brief was to turn this story into a short film, capture still imagery and design and deploy a new website.
The EXECUTION
To accurately do justice to this remarkable story we had to keep a very small cinematic focused team on this project. Trust in new communities is never a given and respecting the sensitivities of the environment you are capturing is paramount to success. Our team has to be multi-tasking, efficient, creative and respectful all-the-while creating a beautiful story in a short space of time.

results & observations
The film and website launched successfully in mid-2019. With a creative relaunch and a push to capture all facets of the business, the film acted as a message to describe the company in a way that would speak to potential benefactors. With supporting social assets, the film was launched at a benefit in the USA and continues to be used as a tool to successfully bring funding to the company.
